British Royalty - Collection of Memorabilia, Including Silk Stockings Made For Queen Victoria. This eclectic collection includes a variety of invitations and programs for royal events, as well as a pair of black silk stockings made for Queen Victoria woven by John Meakin and embroidered by Anne Berkin with the royal cipher "V R" surmounted by a crown. The invitations and programs, many of them colorful and decorative, include: an 1876 reception of the Prince of Wales; admittance to the 1894 opening of the Tower Bridge by the Prince of Wales; the Official Programme of the Funeral Precession of Her Late Majesty Queen Victoria, 1901; King Edward VII's Coronation Dinner, 1902; a Colonial and Indian Reception; a 1925 invitation to view the King (George V) and Queen (Mary) laying the foundation stone of Lloyd's new building; "The Ceremonies to be Observed at the Royal Coronation of…King George the Sixth and Queen Elization…1937"; a program for the 1947 wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Lt. Philip Mountbatten, R.N.; the coronation of Elizabeth II; and a 1953 First Day Cover commemorating the coronation of Elizabeth II and numerous other invitation to invents in honor of royalty. James I - Rare Document Signed As King by this Historic Monarch (1566-1625) King of Scotland as James VI from 1567 and of Great Britain as James I from 1603. During his reign, he authorized an English translation of the Bible for the Church of England, known as the Authorised King James Version, which was completed in 1611. British colonization of the Americas began during his reign with the settlement at Jamestown in 1607 and the "Golden Age" of Elizabethan literature and drama continued to flourish. Manuscript document signed "James R", one page with integral address leaf, 11¼ x 7¼", Theobalds House, July 24, 1622. To Duncan Campbell, Laird of Glenorchy (Argyllshire, Scotland). In part: "…We have understood as well by your letter to our servant Sir Patrick Murray as by the report of our servant Scandemonde your careful and earnest endeavor for…your special care and good entertainent of Scandemonde himself what it hath given him occasion to speak…of you in particular of people dutifully fully devoted to your prince and well affected to strangers So give you much hardy thanks for the same. We have also by your letter to Sir Patrick Murray understood your honest offer for bringing of deer into Glaumonde…we very well esteem thereof and therefore desire you to go on assuring you that thereby you shall do that very acceptable service whereof when occasion shall be offered we will not be unmindful…." Most of large paper and wax seal on address leaf is intact; the leaf is tipped into a slightly larger sheet. Light overall toning. Napoleon I - Autograph Endorsement Signed as Emperor (1769-1821) Corsican-born military general who became emperor of France; recognized as one of the world's greatest military leaders. Autograph endorsement signed "N" as emperor, 3½ x 2½". Cut from a larger document. Above his "N" Napoleon wrote, "apprové - paris le 19 Xe - 1811" [approved - Paris, Oct. 19, 1811]. Written in another hand below is "no. 316." Signed during the Peninsula War, the same year that Napoleon's son and heir was born to the Archduchesse Marie Louise and the year before he commenced his disastrous advance into Russia. Matted with a small color image of Napoleon and framed to an overall size of 10 x 11¾". Fine condition. Estimate Value $600 - 800

Prince William and Princess Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Signed Photo. Autographed color photo 10¾ x 8½", carefully lifted from a souvenir publication of the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton. Superb image of the Royal Couple beaming. Autographs obtained in December of 2014 during their 3-day visit to New York City. Prince William is second in line to succeed his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, after his father, Charles, Prince of Wales. Princess Diana Signed Letter and Collection of The Royal Wedding Invitation and Commemoratives 1981-1982. Impressive collection of Princes Diana ephemera, formerly the property of Councillor Albert Morby. Morby was then Chairman of Northhamptonshire County Council, where Althorp House, the estate of England's famed Spencer family and the childhood home of the late Princess Diana is located. Included in this collection is 1.) Signed letter from Diana Princess of Wales to Councillor Morby dated 31st March 1982 thanking the council for her wedding present, a table 2.) an invitation to the Royal Wedding for the Councillor and his wife (tape on verso as was removed from frame) 3.) admission card to St. Paul's Cathedral very minor adhesions on verso 4.) Order of Service for the Marriage of Charles Prince of Wales to The Lady Diana Spencer containing the full order of the ceremony 5.) letter from Sir Robert Fellows, the Queen's private secretary to Councillor Morby expressing Her Majesty's thanks for his kindness and courtesy during her visit to Northhamptonshire on Buckingham Palace stationery (original folds).
